A little bit more about my approach and experience.

“This is the beginning of a

road whose end is totally

unknown and totally known.”

- Marion Woodman

  • My patients

I work with people who are navigating grief, difficult relationship dynamics (with romantic partners, friends, and family), anxiety, intrusive thoughts, self-limiting beliefs, and more. My patients tend to be highly sensitive (which I believe is a superpower!), introspective, and creative people. This may be a byproduct of being a Los Angeles based therapist, but I also operate from the belief that the patients that I am meant to walk this path with will find me.

I specialize in helping people with addiction and co-dependency, people needing support while navigating big changes, and those struggling with their avoidant and/or anxious attachment style. I welcome people of all genders, ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations, socioeconomic experiences, sexual orientations and ages.

  • My experience

Carl Jung introduced the concept of the Wounded Healer—the idea that those who have undergone their own adverse experiences are uniquely qualified to help others walk their own paths of healing. I have dedicated years in academia to prepare myself to best care for your emotional needs, but what I believe is most important for our work together is the understanding and attunement I hope we can co-create. I have lived experience in grief, challenging relational dynamics, addiction and co-dependency, anxiety and depression, and big life transitions. I offer you this glimpse of who I am as a person so you can understand my humanity and be assured that you will be treated by someone who can empathize with your internal world.

My education includes a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute (AMFT), an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Santa Monica College (RN), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton. My therapy-related work thus far has been: In-Person Intensive Outpatient, Group Facilitator, Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Community Mental Health, Private Practice, Crisis Line Operator.

  • About me personally

When I’m not in therapy sessions with patients, I am often outdoors—either at the beach, on a hiking trail, or at the dog park with Bowie (pictured above.) In the sunshine or under a canopy of trees is where I feel most myself. I am a sucker for a cozy coffee shop, dessert of almost any kind, a campfire, or a good poem (favorites are by Andrea Gibson and Mary Oliver.) I believe in the transformative power of sitting with another person and verbalizing, experiencing, and attuning to your own feelings that may be present under the surface. I have experienced it myself in my own psychodynamic therapy and in communities I am a part of. I hold my position as peoples’ therapist with great reverence and feel truly lucky that I have been called to and am able to do this work.
